Our New Champagne!

Dom Caudron Prediction

Dom Caudron MPC

There are few better ways to turn an evening with friends and family into a truly memorable and iconic celebration than by pulling out a bottle of champagne. And there is no champagne quite like Dom Caudron.
While most champagne is made from pinot noir and chardonnay, Dom Caudron champagne is made from 100% Pinot Meunier! Intrigued? So were we! Not only does this Champagne have a unique and fascinating taste, but it has a unique and fascinating origin story as well!
In the 1920’s in Passy-Grigny, a village in the Marne Valley, there was a famous Abbot named Aime Caudron. Caudron’s kind and lively spirit was one that could be felt all throughout the village. He could often be found sharing a meal with the local winegrowers or bringing life to the village banquets with his enthusiasm. Caudron knew that the winegrowers lived off of the sale of their grapes, and in 1929 he saw their urgent need for growth in order to continue. While he wasn’t a winegrower himself, he was a visionary who brought forth an idea that changed the whole structure and possibly the fate of the village and those who resided in it. Being friends with so many winegrowers  in the area, he had the ability to see all of the individual strengths that they each held and proposed a joining of forces. With his idea (and generous donation) the winegrowers were able to come together and produce their 100% Meunier wines like never before. Today, the village continues to make these wonderful wines and has only grown to now include more than 60 winegrowers.
